CONTEMPORARY ART
Asociación
Anemoia
Asociación Anemoia is the crystallization of a collective project of artists and researchers that operates like a mycelial network: fragmented yet hyperconnected. The members of the collective are based in different places (Tenerife, Stockholm, Seville, Dublin, Bilbao, Madrid, London,…), maintaining an organic and constant connection among ourselves and with the broader cultural ecosystem.
Our practice investigates, both collectively and individually, the relationship between people and images, prophetic times, and landscapes as embodiments of specific temporalities.
Our methodology is characterized by differentiated stages of work: a deep theoretical exploration that precedes and grounds subsequent artistic experimentation.

Who we are
We are a collective of artists and researchers —and also very good friends— working at the intersection of contemporary art, technology, and critical thought.
We are Arturo (based in Madrid), Misael (based in Stockholm), Enrique (Santa Cruz de Tenerife), María (Seville), Esther (based in London), Fer (based in Bilbao) and Fran (based in Dublin).
-

What we are
We are a collaborative, research-based artistic platform that works across different locations through sustained dialogue and shared methodologies. Our practice is grounded in theoretical inquiry and developed through artistic experimentation, focusing on images, temporalities, and landscapes as key frameworks for understanding contemporary experience and the concept of prophecy.
-

What we've done
We have developed research-based artistic projects that combine theory, installation, video, sound, and live formats. Our work has been presented through lectures, exhibitions, and performative situations in cultural institutions, addressing themes such as waiting, nostalgia, prophetic time, and landscapes as sites of tension and transformation. Through these projects, we have articulated speculative imaginaries that explore anticipation, uncertainty, and the possibility of change.
-

What we'll do
We will continue developing long-term, research-led artistic projects that expand our theoretical frameworks and explore prophetic temporalities, speculative landscapes, and the experience of waiting. Working across different formats and contexts, including installations, audiovisual works, live situations, and public programmes, we aim to create flexible frameworks for experimentation, collaboration, and critical engagement with processes of change.

El Suceso
Group Exhibition El Suceso at Fundación Épica La Fura dels Baus. Anemoia Collective.
On Saturday, December 14, 2024, Asociación Anemoia finally presented El Suceso in Badalona, Barcelona, in collaboration with Fundación Épica. The works presented on this occasion introduce the universe of La Hammada, a project that explores waiting and the anticipation of change through the lens of new prophecies and virtual collapse.
Visual and sound artists: Gaia Fiorina, Aran, Fran García, Hzky, Romero Dog, and ukd.
Curators: Arturo López Domingo, Misael Jon Niceto Ordóñez y Miu Horemans.
La Hammada
La Hammada project is developed by Hzky, María González Palacios, a member of this association.
La Hammada is a walking simulator developed in Unreal Engine 5, where the various elements that appear across the desert serve as clues that simultaneously structure the path for the observer. It is a virtual space for wandering and waiting.
(((Deambulatorio(Espera(Profecía)))
Asociación Anemoia was invited by the collective XenoVisual Studies to give a lecture within the framework of XVS Center II at Medialab Matadero on Saturday, May 31, 2025.
The lecture focused on the prophetic question, structured around four main axes through which the audience was invited to engage: temporality, the spatiality in which it occurs, the f(r)ictions generated by the anxiety for things to change, and the question of effect.
What do I do in
Anemoia?
Within Asociación Anemoia, I work as Communications and Administrative Coordinator, Social Media Manager and Visual Artist. I am responsible for coordinating internal administration and external communication, managing our digital presence and social media strategy, and developing visual and audiovisual materials for exhibitions, lectures, social media and public activities. Alongside this, I actively contribute to the collective’s artistic research and creative processes, supporting projects from conceptual development through to production and public presentation.
